Due to a goof on my part, I accidentally deleted most (if not all) of my photos uploaded to my blog. The images left are the ones I had linked from my Facebook.
As a result, we've moved!

no pictures :(
I have been a bit of a hermit the last month. Between going back to school and having bronchitis, July wasn't much fun for the Johnson family.
Luckily my princess did not get sick! Unfortunately my husband was not as lucky.
August will be better though! We are moving to a 3 bedroom house and will be celebrating our little girl's second birthday with our Hawaiian ohana!
That means there will definitely be pictures in August! :)

Moving & Leave
As of 2:45am last Friday, we were no longer residents of Arlington County :(
It was extremely bittersweet leaving our apartment. Not only did we love the apartment, but it was where we first became a family of three!
Before the move we went to a few places around DC that we had been putting off. The Holocaust museum, Pizza Mart, and the FDR memorial to name a few. We wanted to do more but ended up taking a spur of the moment trip to Louisiana.
We didn't want to re-home our cat Figaro, who is now 3 and was with us since he was 3 months old, so we drove to Louisiana so my father-in-law and step mother-in-law could watch him for us until we could arrange for him to go to Hawaii :)
Despite the long hours on the road, it was a great trip since my husband's side of the family was finally able to meet our princess. We didn't take many pictures, since I forgot to pack the camera chargers in the ten minutes Daniel gave me to pack before hitting the road, but here are a few!
We will definitely miss the view of the Washington Monument, but are thrilled to be steps away from the beach.
Fifteen weeks until the BIG move!

short hiatus
It may be a while before I can post again. We sold our dual monitors yesterday :(
Now we have Daniel's computer hooked up to the tv but it's really hard to read on it since it wasn't meant to be a monitor. After we move to MD we will buy a smaller one that will be used as both a tv and monitor, I'm thinking 23 inches? But he wants to get a 27 lol
Anyway, whenever that happens, my mini will be functional again!
I can't wait.
My music and pictures are on there and I didn't realize how much I'd miss them. I also didn't have the foresight to post pictures before giving up the monitor lol The move is taking over my brain!

clearing and carseats
Things have been hectic in the Johnson household as of late.
Our baby girl is now 7 months and 1 week old.
Where has the time gone?!
She's wearing 9 month clothing, and moved up to her big girl stroller and carseat. We also stopped using the bassinet in her pack n play because she is starting to get mobile!
We ran into some paperwork trouble a couple of weeks ago, making my husband think we would lose his school date and Hawaii. Luckily we cleared that up and are now just waiting for his orders to come through. He also got the go ahead to start clearing his current post, which he started today.
I found storage, priced p.o.boxes and movers, and put in our notice with the management last week. I'm actually getting somewhere with packing as well! We downsized while I was pregnant and have just downsized a little more.
I just wont be stocking up on bathing suits and beach towels until we get those orders in hand ;)

so much can change in six months
Six months ago I knew I was having a baby girl.
I knew that the coming months would hold long days and sleepless nights, dirty diapers and what felt like endless pumping sessions. I knew that she had a cleft lip and palate, and that we'd hear ignorant comments about it. I knew she would have three surgeries in less than a year, wouldn't be able to nurse, and would likely need special feeding tools.
I didn't know that instead of a bilateral cleft lip and palate, it would be unilateral and relatively minor. I didn't know she would eat like a champ and not need a Haberman bottle, Pigeon nipple, or anything special other than a nipple with a really fast flow.
I also didn't know that, before and after her first surgery, strangers would come up to us just to say how absolutely beautiful our daughter is, and/or that she is the happiest baby they had ever seen.
Tomorrow she turns six months old and now I know so many more wonderful things, among which are the sparkle in her eye when she smiles or the meaning behind her cries.
She has been "talking" since she was three weeks old, though today Daniel got her to say "mama" three times in a row. Her motor skills are also developing beautifully, the other day she even started to learn how to crawl! She amazes us more and more each day.
Though she already started solids, we look forward to her eating meals with us instead of mush. We're also excited for her first tooth, her first steps, and her first full night of sleep in her crib!
So much has happened in the last six months, and the next six hold even more promising milestones and events for our family. We are moving to Maryland and then shortly after our daughter's birthday to Hawaii!
We plan on taking advantage of the beautiful weather and sandy beaches often, so prepare yourselves for lots of pictures!
On that note, the most recent picture of our darling daughter, trying to crawl on her mat :)
