Mahalo!

We have had a busy few months, I think I'll stretch them out through multiple entries this time and see how that works, but I am too excited to wait to share a couple of pictures from our vow renewal!

February was the 5th anniversary of our first date and the beginning of our relationship. We wanted to have the vow renewal then but due to his stolen motorcycle that didn't have GAP insurance (ALWAYS make sure you have GAP!) we didn't have the funds for it.

Instead, we waited a few months and had a small ceremony at Disney's Aulani Resort with both sides of our family and a few friends on island who we lovingly refer to as our Hawaiian Ohana!

For those of you who haven't seen Disney's Lilo and Stitch (or who just don't know what that means), ohana means family. And mahalo means thank you.

Many mahalos to our ohana for flying out, our friends being a part of our special day, and to our photographers Bianca of Bianca Photography, and B of Just B Photo for capturing it all.

Monthly Obligatory Post

It's been a month, so I guess it is time to update.

Halloween came and went. We went trick-or-treating for the first time and I dressed both my daughter and "her doggie" up. Superman and Supergirl were totally adorable :)

Daniel was away during Halloween, so taking them out together was a bit of an adventure. She walked up to people with her bag open and said, "Thank you" She hasn't quite mastered the concept, but hopefully next year she will!

The day that he got back from Japan I had my first 5k. I ran with the jogging stroller and had a blast. Look to see if the Color Run is coming to a city near you and register! You wont regret it!

Except maybe while you're scrubbing paint off... but I promise it is worth it! :)

Things have been pretty calm since he got back. We spent his day off going to the Wahiawa Botanical gardens, and then to Ka'ena Point and Dillingham Beach, where they filmed LOST! It was a great day and we have so many wonderful pictures that I hope to hang on our walls one day.

Other than that, Daniel took time off this week for my birthday, and as luck would have it we are sick. At least we enjoy cuddle time, grilled cheese with tomato soup, and tv!

Hopefully we will all be better soon because we made reservations to go parasailing on my birthday. Maybe my next post will be later this week with pictures, no promises though ;)

busy busy busy!

Looks like I've gone over a month without posting again... Whoops!

We've been very busy the last month. Let's catch up shall we?

On top of my finals, when our lease was up at the condo, we moved to a house (my first one, yay!).

I unpacked everything that same weekend and we threw her birthday party a few days later.

Then my husband went to Korea, so my family came to keep us company!

While they were here we went shopping with one of our relatives on the island,

visited the Dole Plantation,

hiked to a waterfall in Waimea Valley,

drove around to various beaches with more relatives,

partied on a dinner cruise (Star of Honolulu this time),

went to the Aloha Swap Meet, Waikele Outlet, and an awesome luau!

It was a great having our family here while he was gone. We've made some awesome friends in Hawaii, but it is always so quiet after she goes to bed. It was nice having people to talk to and it definitely made the time pass by quickly!

Things are settling down now. We had her well baby appointment today. The doctor said she's perfect and when we went to get her shots she didn't even cry!

Why is my baby getting so big? And how do I stop it?!

Swimming With Dolphins

For as long as I could remember, I wanted to swim with dolphins.

My daughter is obviously too little to do such a thing, so we did a dolphin encounter with Itsi-Bitsi at Sea Life Park instead.

She loved it! Itsi-Bitsi was just as excited to see her, and my baby girl got to kiss her twice! :)

Mother's Day in Maui

We went had brunch at 5 Palms Lahaina, spent the afternoon at the beach, and then had some shave ice before catching a flight back home.

Maui is beautiful, but I'm glad I live in Oahu. I'm a city girl at heart and it was too deserted for my taste.

I'd definitely go back for a vacation though! The sand is soft as silk and we found an amazing raspberry wine there.

the last two-ish months

The first month I was here, Daniel was away training. And by away, I mean down the street. They have a facility we pass on our way to post, but part of the training requires full immersion, so he was gone for about 3 weeks.

Talk about terrifying! I landed on a Monday night and the following Monday my husband was gone for three weeks. Luckily he had shown me how to get around a little, enough to get gas, groceries, and other necessities.

Our family at Daniel's WLC Graduation (Dec 2011)
Unfortunately I didn't explore very much during that time since I was waiting for the boxes I mailed over to arrive. Did you know parcel post took 2-6 weeks? Me either.

Now that all our stuff has been unpacked, everything is in its place, and my husband is back home, we're ready to take on this island!

So far, we've only been to one beach (aside from the one pictured here). We were also invited to luau with our friends, who had us over for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve.

Daniel and I went on a dinner cruise for our third anniversary last month. It was a ton of fun and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting! We plan on going to a few more luaus and cruises while we're here :)
