I'm a city girl, born and raised in New York. I went to college in Washington DC, where I eventually met Daniel, whom I married in 2008. We lived in Virginia and Hawaii, but now are on opposite ends of the world due to the military.
Our daughter (affectionately called peanut, munchkin, or princess) was born in August 2010 with a unilateral cleft lip and palate, and had three surgeries before her first birthday. She is one tough cookie.

Although the main purpose of this blog was to update friends and family about our daughter, I hope that it will help anyone who learned that their bundle of joy also has a cleft lip and/or palate. Researching and reading other families experiences really helped me out!
